The opportunity
We are looking for a driven AI/ML Engineer to join our team. This role blends development of GenAI powered features, evaluation, search algorithms and data ingestion pipelines. You’ll help shape how we integrate generative AI into real-world applications, delivering a value-creating AI first solution to end-users in short iterative feedback loops. You’ll be a key contributor, working closely with product, design, backend engineers to realize the future of our AI-powered platform.

You’ll employ Metrics Driven Development (MDD) and evaluation methodology to set up evaluation pipelines, helping us realize production-strength GenAI features covering both Agentic patterns and RAG. The focus is initially on utilizing GenAI solutions for the AI features, which will expand over time to incorporate ML solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to greatly influence both our GenAI and ML stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build Gen AI features, covering both Agentic patterns and RAG. You’ll contribute with code to our backend platform.
• Design and build evaluation pipelines and metrics for public customer facing AI solutions.
• Design and build data ingestion pipelines from various sources (APIs, databases, files, customer systems)
• Design and build search algorithms, e.g., vector, semantic, graph, to support our AI features.
• Implement data quality monitoring and validation frameworks
• Integrate AI services and APIs into data processing workflows, including LLMs and vector embeddings
• Support both product data processing and internal business analytics as we scale
• Collaborate with other engineers on backend integration and system architecture
• Evaluate when GenAI or ML solutions are appropriate or whether simpler approaches suffice.
• Contribute to technical decisions about our evolving data stack and infrastructure
• Create and maintain data models optimized for both ML workloads and business analyticsBuild feature engineering pipelines to support ML model training and inference

Must-Have Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with Agentic AI, prompt engineering, tools.
• Understanding RAG, search algorithms, vector databases and embedding workflows.
• Experience with MDD and Gen AI evaluation using frameworks such as RAGAs or MLFlow.
• Experience with the full ML lifecycle.
• Experience with both structured and unstructured data
• Git proficiency and understanding of CI/CD concepts

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience as code contributor to backend components to a shipped app/service.
• Experience with NLP, deep learning and other types of ML models.
• Experience with MLOps.
• Experience with cloud platforms and their AI services
• Experience with graphs, and graph databases
• Experience with data monitoring and observability tools
• Knowledge of streaming data processing concepts
• Experience supporting business intelligence and analytics use cases
